Freed Chibok girls arrive presidential villa in Abuja
The 82 Chibok girls recently freed by the insurgent group, Boko Haram arrived Abuja on Sunday to meet with the president, Muhammadu Buhari before he leaves for London.
The Special Adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed this, saying, ’82 Chibok girls now in Abuja. Received on behalf of the President at the airport by Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abba Kyari. Congrats Nigeria.’
According to Punch, the freed girls were conveyed in two Marcopolo buses marked Nigerian Army and they arrived the presidential villa at exactly 7:05p.m.
According to reports, presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, on Saturday stated the girls were released by their captors in exchange for some Boko Haram suspects held by the Federal Government.
