The Nigerian Man That Married 86 Wives With 170 Children Want More Wives

While most men are scared of tying the knot even once, here’s a man from Bida, Niger State who has married 86 times. Yes, you heard that right! Meet the 67-year-old Nigerian man Mohammed Bello Abubakar – the man with 86 wives! That’s not all. He is said to have fathered as many as 170 children.

How is that even possible!









    “If God permits me, I will marry more than 86 wives. A normal human being could not marry 86 – but I can, only by the grace of God. I married 86 women and there is peace in the house – if there is peace, how can this be wrong?” he told The Christian Science Monitor during an interview.

Because Islam, the religion this 67-year-old man follows, only allows a man to marry four times, he was sent to prison for marrying 86 women. He was released in 2008.

    “Large number of wives? I only have 86 wives. I am still going to marry more. I will keep marrying them for as long I am alive. Whoever is fighting me because of my wives or love life, such an individual has missed it. Left up to me, I would have married maybe two wives, but what I am doing is divine, it is an assignment and I will keep marrying till the end of time.

 I just want to advise those fighting against the number of my wives to stop because such people are waging war against God, their creator” said Mohammed Bello Abubakar in another interview. Here’s another one of his quotes justifying his polygamous life.    “I don’t go looking for them, they come to me. I will consider the fact that God has asked me to do it and I will just marry them. To my understanding, the Koran does not place a limit and it is up to what your own power, your own endowment and ability allows. God did not say what the punishment should be for a man who has more than four wives, but he was specific about the punishment for fornication and adultery.”
